My nephew's bestfriend's mom knows I knit toys. She lent me Super Cute: 25 Amigurumi Animals by Annie Obaachan, Dream Toys: 20 Projects to Knit and Crochet by Mitchell Beazley and The Savvy Crafter's Guide to Success: Turn Your Crafts into a Career by Sandra McCall. I leaf through the pattern books then read Sandra McCall's book. It was an easy read book that gave me courage to seriously consider turning my hobby into a career. In the book she discussed how to get started, defining your direction regarding the business part, organizing work space, and more. Many of the things she talked about were really helpful specially for those who think that their craft is not art. It was an eye opener for me. She shared several tips on how to sell and price crafts, which honestly is a dilemma for many crafters. Other than that, procrastinating was mentioned and how a crafter should manage their time. This really hit me since I tend to think I can finish things faster than it usually takes me so I end up getting pressured losing the fun in creating things.
In the book, The Savvy Crafter's Guide to Success there are numerous crafters who shared their experiences and crafts. How they started their career and how they are loving it, others also shared the sometimes inevitable burnout and how bunrout opened new possibilities for them.
For those who are thinking they would rather make crafts than be an employee. Hopefully Sandra McCall's book will open up new possibilities.

I haven't really explored crochet and so I don't think I will crochet toys anytime soon. Perhaps simple flowers first.
The characters, designs in this book are playful and nice. I would love to knit several toys here. Hopefully by 2013?
I love this book. It's inspiring and motivating... let's see where this will lead me.
Oh by the way all images of the books above were copied from Google images. Thanks! ;P
