My sister established special relationship with some mothers' of her son's classmates. So several days ago I received a birthday invitation.
The party was held at Fun Farm, Sta. Elena, Cabuyao, Laguna. When we arrived there some of the kids were busy fishing. They were all sitting down patiently waiting to catch a fish. After a few minutes two young boys (ages 3 and 5 and they're siblings) were the ones' who caught a fish. After fishing some kids crossed the rope tied to parallel trees, underneath it is a small lake. There were animals to see and interact with; horses, carabaos, birds, ducks, rabbits, pigs and more. Some also enjoyed rowing a small boat. After exploring nature at its best, there was storytelling. The party was a packed with fun and adventure for kids, knowing that children now a days rarely experience and/or appreciate interacting with nature.
The mother of the celebrant is into natural and healthy. So for snack the caterer hired cooks healthy food, some were even vegetarian snacks.
For the giveaway, the kids were asked to hunt for wooden swords, once one finds a sword, they will smoothen it using sandpaper. Then they were given a cape. The story behind the cape amazed me, pure silk, dyed with fruits (darn i forgot what fruits were used) and hand sewn. Imagine the dedication to make those capes.
Of course for every birthday, invited guests prepare gifts. For Sydney I knitted her a pink ballerina. Unfortunately I did not finish it in time for her big day but she will receive it soon... really soon!
